Close to half a million people are rallying in DC today to march for the greatest civil rights cause of our time. But this is nothing new. These pro-lifers have been doing this every year for 4 decades. Every year, decade after decade, hundreds of thousands of people have stormed the capital in the largest annual human rights demonstration in the history of the world. And every year they receive barely a passing mention by the media.

A few hundred Occupiers in New York dominated the headlines for weeks. During the Bush years, a couple dozen Code Pink protesters gained considerable attention. Even the Tea Party protests of 2010 garnered plenty of media hype, for better or for worse. Meanwhile the March for Life dwarfs all of these, and it’s not even close. And they’ve sustained it for 4 decades while most other movements have dwindled and faded. Today they will easily have a larger attendance than the Million Man March, just as they did last year. But they will be ignored.

Oh, sure, you might see an article online that says something like, “People on Both Sides of Abortion Debate Gather in DC”. Right. People on both sides. Half a million pro-lifers against 14 “pro-choicers” and somehow that equates to nothing more than “people on both sides gathering”. That would be like if I showed up for the Super Bowl and tossed a football around in the parking lot during the game and the next day ESPN ran a headline that said “Ravens, 49ers and Guy Named Matt Walsh Gather in New Orleans for Football”.

No matter where you stand on the issue of whether or not a million babies should be killed this year, you ought to be a bit confused as to why the largest political rally in the world is somehow less newsworthy than discussing Clinton’s Benghazi hearing for the third day in a row. But we all really know what’s going on here.

The world turns its back on you because it fears you. It fears what you say, what you believe, what you represent. It can’t engage you. It can’t argue your points. It can’t defend its own position. So instead it covers its ears and hums a tune to drown you out. And when that happens, you know you’re on to something. So keep shouting. Until you’ve blown out a lung and you have no friends left, shine that light.

There’s a deadness, a murderous nihilism at the heart of our culture and it swallows more and more people by the day. The fighters in DC this afternoon are the ones who refuse to be eaten by it. Keep fighting. These infanticide apologists will eventually be exposed. And truth will win. “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain for the former things have passed away.”

P.S. Every time I post on a pro-life subject I typically lose about 100 subscribers within the hour. So to those folks: goodbye, so long, God speed. You can’t run from reality forever, and I hope you realize that at some point before you die.
